About Eli

Eli Douglas is a performer and director originally from Ohio, twenty minutes east of Cleveland. Eli is currently based in Boston, MA while open to relocation. They are on track to receive their BFA in Musical Theatre from The Boston Conservatory in May 2024 with an emphasis in directing.

Eli's passion for acting stems in extreme character work, uncovering the inner child and exploring gender expansive roles in classic text and new work.

Performance highlights from their conservatory experience include regional, BoCo MainStage and black box shows such as Toby in Sweeney Todd, Simon in Lord of the Flies and The Child in Into The Woods (pictured). Up next, they are looking forward to joining Firehouse Center for the Arts production of Into the Woods as Jack.

Directorial highlights include: The Vagina Monologues with a revised, gender non-conformative lens and the blessing of the original playwright, V (formerly known as Eve Ensler). The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time centering autistic and neurodivergent voices. American Siren, a new musical written by fellow student, Nina Osso, completely student-led and run. They are elated to have been invited to direct a new work in the Boston Theater Marathon this year, produced by Moonbox Productions.

In addition, Eli enjoys voice over acting, dialect work, Sondheim and Shakespeare. They have worked closely with Marianna Bassham, Jennie Israel, Igor Golyak, Rosie Ward, Joy Arcolano, Bevin O'Gara and Lee Nishri-Howitt to develop these skills further. They hope to create joy through many mediums of art as they enter the industry.
